Milani Color Statement Lipsticks

Milani's Color statement lipsticks come in a wide variety of richly pigmented shades. In total there are 30 shades, with 6 in the following categories: pinks and corals, reds and oranges, plums and berries, and 9 in the naturals and browns.

*The scent of these lipsticks is quite strong, so, if possible, I would recommend smelling one to make sure you don't hate the scent. Personally, I don't really love the scent but the product itself is nice. Ultimately, I would prefer that these had no scent.

*I found it very helpful that the packaging clearly shows the shade of lipsticks which means there is less of a chance that A) you end up not liking the shade and B) that someone has opened it and used it in someway.

* The lasting power on these are fairly good, and even when they faded, my lips remained somewhat "stained."

Sweet Nectar: vibrant orange

Plum/Rose: plummy-purple

Red Label: cool-toned red

Overall, if you are looking for a huge shade range of vibrant, and extremely pigmented lipsticks and don't care much about lip product scents, then these could definitely be something worth checking out. Also, at about $5.49 a lipstick, they are some of the best quality lip products out there for the price!

Benefit Tints

Some of Benefit's most iconic product are their tints. Benetint was the first product Benefit ever released. They have incredible lasting power just as a stain should! Lately I have been paying close attention of wear-time when it comes to makeup and these have not failed to impress.

Swatches & Review:
* The picture located to the right of the actual product is the tint swiped using the brush attached; The picture below is that swipe blended using my finger.

Benetint: rose-tinted lip and cheek stain

*This tint is the most watery making it much easier to blend if one was to use this as a blush. The color looks intense in the bottle, however, it provides light coverage once blended. Although it is sheer, it can be built up on the lips to allow for ample coverage. Also, as a stain, this shade is fantastic. Once applied, it sinks into the skin and stays there for hours.

*This is the only stain that has a scent (that I can detect.) It has a fragrant rose scent which is very fitting for the beautiful rosy shade.

Cha Cha Tint: mango tinted lip and cheek stain

*This stain is very thick and pigmented. While the consistency is perfect for a lip stain, it is difficult to wear as a blush. As you can see in the blended swatch, the original swipe is still apparent even though it was blended only seconds after applying. The only way I can imagine wearing it as a cheek stain is if I rub the product between my fingers first, and then blend it quickly onto my cheeks. Once the tint is placed it sticks and stays there, which it good for a stain, but not ideal for a blush.

*I actually wore this the other day as a lip stain and the product literally lasted all day! Even after I took a shower a little bit of pigment still remained on my lips.

PosieTint: pink tinted lip and cheek stain

*This tint is extremely similar to Cha Cha tint in consistency and texture;in fact; the only difference between the two is, obviously, the color.

Price: $29 for full size(12.5 ml)
The cost is a little pricey, so if you are interested in any of these tints, I would recommend getting a set that includes at least one of them. This is also a great way to try out some other Benefit products! On benefitcosmetics.com there are several sets including the tints.

Overall:  I really like using all the tints as a lip stain, however benetint is my favorite and the one I would most encourage you to try! Once I run out of the mini, I will be purchasing the full size.

Have you tried any Benefit tints? If so, which is your favorite?

L'oreal colour caresse wet shine stain

I recently picked up a couple of the L'oreal colour caresse wet shine stain after having good luck with two other l'oreal lip products (the colour riche caresse sticks and the colour caresse lip balm.) Unfortunately, I really don't like this product and will probably be throwing them away after I am done with this post.

Consistency: The formula for these glosses is water based. When applying, I feel like I am putting water on my lips which is kind of strange. Although it feels like water when applying, once the product is on my lips it feels thick and tacky.

Packaging: Something to be aware of is that these do not come sealed. I would prefer that they came sealed because there is really no way to tell if someone has swatched or even used them. Buying them is risking buying someone else's germs as well.

Scent: I am not a fan of the scent at all. However, scents are very personal and I'm sure tons of people either love the scent or are just not bothered by it. I'm very sensitive to scents, so this is another deal breaker for me.

Wear-Time: The wear- time really depends on how many layers one puts on. If you were to put on 3 or more layers I would say that the stain lasts for a couple hours at most. With one layer, it disappears on me well within an hour.

Pigmentation: Although the stains may appear to have a decent amount of pigmentation in the pictures below, I layered fix to six layers on my lips to build up the opacity.

Cost: Around $10

Swatches:
For the pictures of the products swatched on my arm, the left is one layer and on the right is three   layers.

Lilac Ever After

Overall, I was really disappointed this product and I certainly don't recommend it.

Stila Convertible Color in "Peony"

A few weeks ago sephora offered a mini Stila convertible color in "peony" as a 100 point perk. I have heard many people on youtube rave about this product so I was really excited to be able to try it without purchasing the $25 full size. Sephora describes this product as a "lipstick that doubles as a blush."

As a blush, this product is really nice. I actually really like the finish as it looks more natural than a powder blush. It doesn't look greasy at all, but I'm not sure that it would hold up all day on really oily skin. However,  for normal to dry skin it adds a beautiful flush that doesn't look like heavy makeup. It faded on me after 4-5 hours of wear.

Swatches (left= bare lips, right= lips with "peony" on)

*If you get the chance to try this as a mini (in any shade) as a point perk, or in a value set, I completely recommend taking advantage of it. In most of the reviews I have seen, people have absolutely loved it. I was not by any means disappointed in this product, I just didn't find it to be a must-have worthy of the hype.

Overall, I like this product;however, I don't think that it is quite special enough to justify buying another one. I will use up the mini though! If you love cream blush then this product might be worth trying out. Nevertheless,  as a lipstick only, it adds a nice amount of color that melts into the lips, but isn't anything spectacular.
