L'oreal Colour Riche Balm

The L'oreal color riche balms are the ultimate my lips but better product! I love the hint of color that it gives my lips and the moisturizing feel, resulting in a natural, yet slightly shiny finish.

*The blue one isn't swatched. I couldn't  get the camera to pick up on the slight tint; it just looked like a strange spot of shine on my arm when I took pictures.

What L'oreal claims: "This tinted lip balm provides a hint of luscious, kissable color, smoothing lips instantly and for a full 8 hours of continuous hydration. Lips are softer and more supple all day long—and keeps conditioning even after it’s been removed"

I agree that the lip balms provide a "hint" of color that "smoothes lips instantly;" however, I can't say that I noticed 8 hours of hydration after this wore off.

Caring Coral:

Heavenly Berry:

*This product truly does smooth the lips. It doesn't settle in lip lines or cling to dry patches as some heavier lip products may.

*For me, these lasted about two hours on my lips. In between the time it wore off and the time I reapplied, I did notice that my lips were not dry. I have extremely dry lips naturally, so I was impressed that the moisturizing properties were able to sustain my lips for hours.

* I love the packaging! The little "puzzle piece" in the front allows for the cap to be secure; moreover, the bottom part can double as a mirror. I don't find that I need a mirror when applying these as they are pretty sheer, but it is nice to have the option to check after applying.

Overall, I really like this balms for when I want a natural look! Although I own four of them, when applied, they look very similar. For this reason, I don't think that one needs the entire collection of them as each color is not entirely unique when compared to another.

L'oreal Colour Riche Caresse in "Rose Taffeta"

One of my favorite products from L'oreal is their colour riche lipsticks. The one depicted in this review is the colour riche caresse stick, but I will also have another review coming soon on the colour riche balms. On a side note, I must admit that I had to research the names before writing this to make sure I had them right. I find the various lines slightly differing titles a bit confusing, especially because the name is not on the packaging!

Pigmentation: This product is surprisingly pigmented for being described as more of a tinted lip balm/lip butter/ hybrid product. I think that -pigmentation wise- it is more of a lipstick. Although I feel comfortable enough applying it without a mirror, it does provide my lips with a nice amount of color.
Texture: It feels very comfortable in that rather than sitting on top of the lips, I feel that it sinks in and adds a bit of moisture.
Finish: At first, the finish is rather glossy, however, after a an hour or so sheen wears off a little and my lips look "healthy" meaning they have pigment, and a slight shine that comes from the moisturizing properties.
Cost: About $10(or less depending on the store)

Swatches:

Overall, I am really enjoying this product because I find it "easy" to wear. The shade is darker than my natural lips, but not by much. It's also nicely moisturizing and adds enough shine so that no lip gloss is required. I definitely recommend this product, however, the shade range(that I have seen) is not very large. I think its worth mentioning that even though I really do like this product, I will not be buying any more because I don't think that the other shades would look very good on me. Of course everyone's coloring and features are different,so some people might love every shade, it really is up to personal preference.
If you are looking for something that is not quite a lipstick formula in finish or pigmentation, yet still provides decent color and staying power then this could be the perfect product!

L'oreal colour caresse wet shine stain

I recently picked up a couple of the L'oreal colour caresse wet shine stain after having good luck with two other l'oreal lip products (the colour riche caresse sticks and the colour caresse lip balm.) Unfortunately, I really don't like this product and will probably be throwing them away after I am done with this post.

Consistency: The formula for these glosses is water based. When applying, I feel like I am putting water on my lips which is kind of strange. Although it feels like water when applying, once the product is on my lips it feels thick and tacky.

Packaging: Something to be aware of is that these do not come sealed. I would prefer that they came sealed because there is really no way to tell if someone has swatched or even used them. Buying them is risking buying someone else's germs as well.

Scent: I am not a fan of the scent at all. However, scents are very personal and I'm sure tons of people either love the scent or are just not bothered by it. I'm very sensitive to scents, so this is another deal breaker for me.

Wear-Time: The wear- time really depends on how many layers one puts on. If you were to put on 3 or more layers I would say that the stain lasts for a couple hours at most. With one layer, it disappears on me well within an hour.

Pigmentation: Although the stains may appear to have a decent amount of pigmentation in the pictures below, I layered fix to six layers on my lips to build up the opacity.

Cost: Around $10

Swatches:
For the pictures of the products swatched on my arm, the left is one layer and on the right is three   layers.

Lilac Ever After

Overall, I was really disappointed this product and I certainly don't recommend it.
